PHINMA Foundation honors 18 scholar graduates for 2024

The PHINMA Foundation, Inc. (PFI) celebrated the graduation of another batch of scholars this year, true to the organization’s commitment to making lives better for outstanding Filipino youth in need.

Eighteen beneficiaries of the PHINMA National Scholarship (PNS), the flagship program of the PFI, graduated from college in 2024 with courses in education, accountancy, and engineering. Twelve hailed from the Philippine National University (PNU), four from the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman, and two from PHINMA University of Pangasinan (PHINMA UPang).

Fourteen (14) scholars graduated with Latin honors, led by one (1) summa cum laude: Paul Rainer De Villa, a BS Industrial Engineering graduate from UP Diliman. Ten (10) scholars graduated magna cum laude: one from UP, and nine from PNU. Meanwhile, three finished college with cum laude honors: one from UP as well, and another two from PNU.

In a speech at the PNS Graduation Dinner Party last August 2, Mr. De Villa recalled how the Foundation instilled in him and his fellow scholars the values of patriotism, competence, professionalism, leadership, and integrity

“Now, as we become PNS alumni and venture into the real world, and as our way of giving back to all the people that made our PNS experience possible, we, the graduating scholars, commit to uphold and practice these values and skills,” he said.

PFI Executive Director Ron Ranier Reyes enjoined this year’s scholar graduates to share PHINMA’s commitment to improving lives for Filipino families and communities.

“As you embrace new opportunities and face new challenges, carry with you the spirit of growth and a commitment to making lives better wherever life may take you. Remember that you are now part of a larger PHINMA community dedicated to creating a better future for our country,” said Mr. Reyes.
